Man In The Mirror

So I'm sitting at work listening to Musiq's "So Beautiful" and the last verse of the song repeats itself by saying "Baby don’t you, baby don't you know You're so beautiful (beautiful, beautiful)"x4 and for some odd reason I began to think about my appearance when people see me. Now lets not get anything twisted around, I know that I am a beautiful African-American woman but for the simple fact that many have a self-esteem issues concerning themselves gets me to wonder about their appreciation for their-self. Last week I was watch a special on TLC about a 17yr old girl from Haiti who was born with a disease that expanded out her face to a way that most kids feared being around her because they felt she portrayed a monster. She portrayed more spirit than most females my age and she knew that her condition was un-explainable but that did not take the pride/joy she held within herself. My whole outtake on this is, be THANKFUL for the reflection that you see on a daily basis, for many women out there who can't bare to look in the mirror just imagine if you were her.....

Even though this article/piece of literature should have been written awhile ago, I'm just now coming across this assignment. This concert was phenomenal for the beginning of 2010!! I was super staked to see an artist that I respect lyrically for his dedication to the music industry and also continuing to bring future "musically enchalleneged" individuals into this game. Jay Z really preformed a FAB show and brought out Young Jeezy, one of my favorite rappers in this time period. All I can say is that my time has come AND I'M ON TO THE NEXT.....

Outside My Zone

God, grant me the serenity

To accept the things I cannot change;
The courage to change the things that I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Saaay What JANUARY bae bae

Even though I might be about a few weeks late, this birthday in particular was by far one of the most memorable birthday's I've ever experience. Coming out with all my friends and associates for a night full good music and laughter allowed me to relive the big 21 all over again! Definitely worth the evening....
