Confidence affects everything: the way we present ourselves, our self-image and what we're capable of achieving. A recent study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that the much discussed 'confidence gap' isn't limited to the United States - it's worldwide, but the gap seems to be more pronounced in Western cultures. A recent Forbes article explored this study and discussed the effect that this disparity has on women's career progression, salaries, and overall well-being.
