Let Go, and Know God Is in Control

“Let go of your concerns! Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth” (Psalm 46:10 GW).

last eight lines to the Serenity Prayer:

Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, taking as Jesus did this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that you will make all things right if I surrender to your will so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with you forever in the next. Amen.”

Trusting God

Psalm 136

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
who made the great lights
His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.
10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.
13 to him who divided the Red Sea[a] asunder
His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.
16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
His love endures forever.
17 to him who struck down great kings,
His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings
His love endures forever.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites
His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan
His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel.
His love endures forever.
23 He remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies.
His love endures forever.
25 He gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.

Love Drives Out the Fear in Your Relationships

Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it … shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love” (1 John 4:18NLT, second edition).

In My Darkest Days & Nights

“Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.”
— Philippians 4:6-8

Now I Need You

Praying for increase and opportunity. Giving thanks in advance for what He is about to do. Faith is keeping me positive about the outcome because I pray to a God who provides!

“Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and ... put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:22b-24 NIV).

Fact: Confidence is Key

"Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement."
- Golda Meir

Confidence affects everything: the way we present ourselves, our self-image and what we're capable of achieving. A recent study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that the much discussed 'confidence gap' isn't limited to the United States - it's worldwide, but the gap seems to be more pronounced in Western cultures. A recent Forbes article explored this study and discussed the effect that this disparity has on women's career progression, salaries, and overall well-being.

Happiness Habit: Your Faith Grows With Your Generosity

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” (Philippians 4:6 NLT)

Your faith is strengthened when you depend on God in those situations and trust him. You choose to pray, instead of worry and expect God to take care of your needs.

Happiness Habit: The Power of Grateful Prayers

Thanking God in advance is a big step of faith. When we have the faith to thank God ahead of time, miracles happen. The more thankful we are, the more God works in our lives. The Bible says that God inhabits the praise of his people. He uses our thanksgiving as an instrument of power in our lives.

By Rick Warren — Feb 22, 2016

“Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience God's peace.” (Philippians 4:6-7a NLT)

40 Things to Let Go

  1. Fear of Failure – You don’t succeed without experiencing failure. Just make sure you fail forward.
  2. Your Comfort Zone – It’s outside our comfort zones where new discoveries are made.
  3. Feelings of Unworthiness – You are fearfully and wonderfully made by your creator. (see Psalm 139:14)
  4. Impatience – God’s timing is the perfect timing.
  5. Retirement – As long as you are still breathing, you are here for a reason. You have a purpose to influence others for Christ. Our work is not always tied to a paycheck.
  6. People Pleasing – I can’t please everyone anyways. There is only one I need to strive to please.
  7. Comparison – I have my own unique contribution to make and there is no one else like me.
  8. Blame – I am not going to pass the buck. I will take responsibility for my actions.
  9. Guilt – I am loved by Jesus and he has forgiven my sins. Today is a new day and the past is behind.
  10. Overcommitment – Do less better and accomplish more.
  11. Lack of Counsel – Wise decisions are rarely made in a vacuum.
  12. Impurity – Live lives pure and without blemish.
  13. Entitlement – The world does not owe me anything. God does not owe me anything. I live in humility and grace.

  15. Hatred – Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
  16. Negativity – I will put the best construction on everything when it comes to other people. I will also minimize my contact with people who are negative and toxic.
  17. The Spirit of Poverty – Believe that with God there is always more than enough and never a lack.
  18. Going Through the Motions – The more you invest yourself, the more you will get back.
  19. Complaint – Instead of contributing to the problem, be the solution.
  20. The Pursuit of Happiness – God wants something greater and more lasting than happiness. It is called joy.
  21. Bitterness – The only person I am hurting by holding on to this is myself.
  22. Distraction – Life is filled with distractions that will take our eyes off the prize.
  23. Giving up – God never gives up on us.
  24. Mediocrity – If you are going to do something, then give it all you got.
  25. Destructive Speech – Encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching (see Hebrews 10:25).
  26. Busyness – It is a badge of honor to be busy. But that does not always translate to abundance.
  27. Loneliness – With Jesus I am never alone. He is with me wherever I go.

  38. Self-Sufficiency – Jesus is my strength. I can do all things through him (seePhilippians 4:13)
  39. Sorrow – Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5b)
  40. My Life – Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life (John 12:25

Plant Your Seeds Wisely

Everything starts as a seed. That’s the first law of the harvest.
Every achievement started as a dream seed. America started as an idea seed of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Saddleback Church started as a seed. Your life started as a seed — when your father’s seed was connected with your mother’s egg, your life began. Literally everything that’s living on planet Earth came from a seed.

In Genesis 1:11 God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds” (NIV).

ENTJ Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging

ENTJs have a natural tendency to marshall and direct. This may be expressed with the charm and finesse of a world leader or with the insensitivity of a cult leader. The ENTJ requires little encouragement to make a plan. One ENTJ put it this way... "I make these little plans that really don't have any importance to anyone else, and then feel compelled to carry them out." While "compelled" may not describe ENTJs as a group, nevertheless the bent to plan creatively and to make those plans reality is a common theme for NJ types.
ENTJs are often "larger than life" in describing their projects or proposals. This ability may be expressed as salesmanship, story-telling facility or stand-up comedy. In combination with the natural propensity for filibuster, our hero can make it very difficult for the customer to decline.
TRADEMARK: -- "I'm really sorry you have to die." (I realize this is an overstatement. However, most Fs and other gentle souls usually chuckle knowingly at this description.)
ENTJs are decisive. They see what needs to be done, and frequently assign roles to their fellows. Few other types can equal their ability to remain resolute in conflict, sending the valiant (and often leading the charge) into the mouth of hell. When challenged, the ENTJ may by reflex become argumentative. Alternatively (s)he may unleash an icy gaze that serves notice: the ENTJ is not one to be trifled with.
(ENTJ stands for Extravert, iNtuitive, Thinking, Judging and represents individual's preferences in four dimensions characterising personality type, according to Jung's and Briggs Myers' theories of personality type.)

B'Day. Chapter 28

God Can Top Your Biggest Dream

“God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!” (Ephesians 3:20 MSG)
God’s dream for your life is exponentially bigger than your dream. It’s eternally significant.
There are a lot of dreams you could have that may seem big, but they wouldn’t be significant. You could dream of being a millionaire by a certain age, but for what purpose? Do you think God put you on this planet to live for yourself? Of course not! God’s dream for your life is bigger than your dream.
Ephesians 3:20 says, “God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!” (MSG)
I’ve never been accused of small dreaming. I have big visions in life. Yet God says, “Rick, think of the greatest thing I could do in your life, the greatest way I could bless your life. Dream the biggest dream, the greatest vision — and I can top that!”
You have no idea what God wants to do in your life. You are living such a small fraction of what you’re capable of. You are doing with your life such a small portion of what God wants to do in your life.
God wants you to dream big. He wants you to base your dream not on what you think you can do but on what you think God can do. He wants you to use the imagination that he gave you, because dreaming big honors him. It shows faith. It shows trust.
Many years ago Saddleback Church purchased 120 acres of land for our campus. That’s bigger than Disneyland! When word got out, people said, “What kind of church is this that’s going to go buy 120 acres of Orange County property? Who do those people think they are?”
When I heard that, I said, “That’s the wrong question. The question should be, ‘Who do we think God is?’” We were dreaming big because we knew God had a big plan for Saddleback.
Let the size of your God determine the size of your goal.

Everyday Process

“Take chances, take a lot of them. Because honestly, no matter where you end up and with whom, it will always end up just the way it should be. Your mistakes make you who you are. You learn and grow with each choice you make. Everything is worth it. Say how you feel, always. Be you and be okay with it.”

NYE Service at Alfred Street Baptist Church

New Years Service
Judges 8:4-14, 28
"I am exhausted, but still not done"

-be careful how you judge people on the place they are in, because you don't know what God may call them to do. (Gideon was a drunk called by God to lead the Israelites)
-Gideon and his men got to the Jordan River and they were exhausted, frustrated...tired.
-you can get to a new chapter and be tired...exhausted...you are at the end of 2015 and you are exhausted.
-you have some trouble, problems, sickness..loneliness in the new year. Life doesn't stop.
-Gideon was exhausted but still in pursuit

3 ways to keep going:
1. You've got to complete past projects
- we've got to move from where we are to handle some things in our past in order to not jeopardize our peace in the future
- the delusion of the devil is that tomorrow morning your life will be different "New Year, New Me"
- until you handle some of the mess in your yesterday you can not move into tomorrow

2. Separate from problematic people
- too many people are paralyzed by rejection especially when it's people that you think should except you or help you out
- Gideon kept on going even when his own people wouldn't support him
- you don't need everybody you think you need to be successful. If God has called you and God has called you, you don't need everybody
- everybody you want isn't ordained to be in your life. Some people are poison for what God has called you to do
- The Lord is trying to open your eyes. You may love them but they are not ordained for you

3. Reflect on my precious provisions
-remember what the Lord has already done
- you ought to have 3 files on God: the miracles he did for you, the grace he had for you, and the mercy he showed you

Happy New Year!

Not for them, but for Me

Adding a few qualities to myself, I like to call it enhancement for the better. Always trying to improve myself but not for them, but for me. Declaring this year 2016 of:

  1. happiness
  2. abundance overflow
  3. prosperity
  4. love/ and loving more
  5. blessings on blessings
  6. slow to speak & quick to listen
  7. worrying less
  8. praying more
  9. living more
That's all I have for now, I will add more as the months go by!

January 5th I'm waiting for you, let's go Twenty Great :)
